DINITROL 6030 AluSoft Aluminum putty putty

Characteristics:
Dinitrol 6030 putty is a two-component filler, polyester-based trowel putty with aluminum particles for light, non-porous sealing and dust-free sanding. Dinitrol 6030 sealant adheres to almost all substrates found in the motor vehicle area, such as sheet steel, primers, two-component fillers and topcoats sanded to a matte finish. Dinitrol 6030 sealant must not be applied to thermoplastic lacquers, as there is a risk of cracking and poor adhesion. A test must be carried out with aluminium, as different adhesion behavior may occur depending on the type of alloy.

Fields of application:
Dinitrol 6030 putty is suitable for removing unevenness on car bodies, sheet metal constructions, for aligning machine casings, for repairing plastic materials reinforced with glass fibers (GFK), for improving concrete, masonry, wooden boards, etc. Unevenness up to a depth of approx. 10 mm on vertical surfaces are leveled effortlessly in one work cycle.

Application:
The substrate to be treated must be clean: i.e. free of grease, dust and rust. A healthy varnish must be sanded down to a matte finish. The material adheres better if the bare sheet is roughened (Scotchbrite, Smirek). Dinitrol 6030 putty is carefully mixed with 2-3% hardening paste. The processing time is 5-6 minutes, depending on the temperature and the amount of hardener. Only as much sealant should be mixed as can be processed in this time period. Layers up to a thickness of 10 mm can be processed in one or two working steps, depending on the profile. Thicker layers should be applied in several working steps, even for smaller areas. The next layer may only be applied when the first layer has hardened. After approx. 20 minutes, the putty has hardened enough to be sanded. Any fine pores that may open up during sanding are filled with fine putty or filled with polyester spray filler if they are not too large.
In order to prevent changes in the color of the paint, which can occur with critical colors, the plastered surface is isolated with an insulating filler or a so-called "non sanding sealer". After drying and possible sanding with fine sandpaper, it can be painted.
If spot-welded laps/overlaps or joint edges are painted on one side, care must be taken to protect the back side against corrosion (sealing with sealant or thixotropic cavity sealant).
Corrosion occurs due to the action of moisture between the individual plates. This "travels" under the paint through microscopic cracks that remain after spot welding, which can lead to the formation of blisters and cracks in the paint.
When repairing wood, such as on doors, the old paint must be removed. An adhesion test must be performed on impregnated wood, as an impregnation containing oil can lead to a loss of adhesion.
